This month saw Donington Park yet again be the launch pad of the British Touring Car Championship, being the venue for their 2017 media day, where we caught up with this years’ mountune-powered teams.
Renowned BTCC team Motorbase Performance, now sporting their new yellow livery following their multi-year title sponsorship deal with leading cereal brand, Nestle Shredded Wheat, are again being powered by mountune Racing for their 2017 challenge.
Now as a pack of three, the teams Ford Focus ST’s continue to run the infamous mountune 4-cylinder 2-litre Ford EcoBoost engines, derived from the 247bhp road car version, which helped the team reach multiple podiums and securing the independents title during their 2016 season.
This years’ driver line-up includes two new members to the team in Depper and Davenport, headed by Mat Jackson, who is now in his eighth consecutive year with David Bartum’s Kent based team.
Elsewhere on the grid, and a year on from the introduction of the Subaru Levorg’s, the newly named Adrian Flux Subaru Racing also continue to be powered by mountune with their 2.0 turbocharged Boxer engines.
Cole and Plato return to the team for their second and third year respectively, with new member and 2016’s top rookie, Ash Sutton joining making it a three car grid for the Herts based team.
