The first event of the championship was held at Silverstone, which sported a brand-new Rallycross circuit, a first for the home of British Motor Racing. The opening of the new track saw the curtain rise on what will be a full on season of Rallycross events being held at the Northampton track, including the FIA World Rallycross Championship in May.
BRX Round 1 saw series regular Kevin Proctor line up in his 600bhp mountune-powered Duratec 2.0L Ford Fiesta Supercar against some of the worlds best Rallycross contenders, including Loeb, Teammate Hansen and Bakkerud.
Making some good progress on a slippery track in the Qualifying rounds, where he finished 3rd, 4th and 8th respectively, Procter made it to the final race starting the grid from the second row. Unfortunately, due to damage from a clash with a fellow competitor in an earlier race, Procter was unable to complete the 6-lap final, ending the day with a DNF.
We look forward to seeing him back on track at Lydden Hill Round 2, April 2nd.
