BTCC ROUND 3 - Thruxton

The mountune Team were at Thruxton Circuit this weekend supporting Team Shredded Wheat with Gallagher and Team GardX Racing with Motorbase at Round 3 of the 2018 BTCC.

The mountune-powered cars lined the grid in what was their third meet of the championship, and were feeling confident after qualifying saw Tordoff and Chilton start Race 1 in P6 and P7 respectively, with Cole in P20.

Race 1 prevailed, and both Motorbase Performance Team's made a great start to the day. Chilton did well to climb up the grid to finish in P5, with teammate, Tordoff one step ahead crossing the line in 4th, bagging himself some silverware thanks to an Independent Win. James's race was slightly more difficult, seeing him start Race 2 in P19.

The second run of the day saw Tordoff again take a P4 finish and a second Indy Win, with Chilton also taking a Top 10 spot in P9. Unfortunately, James suffered some suspension issues after contact and was forced to retire to the pits.

The final race of the day saw Tordoff complete a hat-trick of P4 finishes, missing out on podium spots each time but adding significant points to the standings table, as did Chilton who finished Race 3 in a respectable 11th.  James struggled at this weekends rounds but with the next meeting in 3 weeks at his home track, Oulton Park, he's hopeful for better results.

CTCC ROUND 2 - Zhuhai

Zhuhai was the venue for this weekends CTCC race, where mountune-powered Changhan Ford FRD team were ready to add points to their score board after a successful qualifying session. Martin Cao took fourth fastest, just over a tenth of a second ahead of teammate Andy Yan, with Rainey He following in 6th, and Zhang Da Sheng finishing in 10th.

In Race 1 Cao made a quick move to the front row taking P2 and maintained his position to take the second podium step, with teammate Yan following in a close P5.  The race was then suspended behind the safety car on lap six when Da Sheng came together with another competitor at Turn 4, seeing his Ford Focus buried firmly in the gravel, ending his day.

Race 2 saw a reverse grid start and again, the team did well to make their way through the pack, taking three Top 10 slots; Cao in P5, Yan P6 and He P8.

The team made solid points this weekend with another podium finish and they look forward to Round 3 at Guangdong International Circuit, June 2nd - 3rd.
