The latest from the mountune-powered world of Motorsport

BTCC Round 7 - Rockingham

Rockingham circuit was the place to be this weekend for Round 7 of the 2018 British Touring Car Championship and all three mountune-powered Ford Focus RS' were out on track hungry for points.

A successful qualifying session for the team saw Tordoff's #600 start from the front row in P2, Chilton in P7 and some grip issues for Cole saw him start Race 1 at P25.

Race 1 started with drama as a heavy knock at turn one saw Tordoff leave his P2 position and unfortunately, leave the opening race.  Chilton delivered an outstanding drive to charge through the pack from his P7 starting position to cross the line in 3rd, claiming his, and the teams' fourth podium of the season.   Cole also made progress on his starting position, taking the flag in P19.

A scrappy Race 2 with multiple safety cars saw all three cars back out on track, again running Prime tyres.  Battles were had but all three cars made it home with Chilton, Tordoff and Cole crossing the line in P10, P18 and P19 respectively.

A reverse grid draw saw Chilton start on Pole for the third and final race of the day however damage caused by a greasy track proved a problem for the #3 Focus, ending his race, and race day.  Cole also finished the race early due to broken suspension however an epic drive from Tordoff saw him climb the grid with a photo-finish sprint to the line, missing out on a podium spot by just 0.031s!

We look forward to seeing the team back in action at Knockhill, august 25th - 26th.

Nordic RX Round 4 - Nysum, Denmark

This weekends Nordic RallyX round proved to be a huge success for all three mountune-powered cars that lined the grid.

Qualifying rounds saw Olsbergs MSE driver Oliver Eriksson, plus JC Racetecknik's Bryntesson and Froshaug all earn points by finishing in good positions each time, all earning their places in the Semi-Finals.

Semi-Final 1 saw reigning Nordic RallyX Champion, Bryntesson start in pole and maintain his position throughout to cross the line in P1.  Eriksson and Froshaug took their Semi-Final 2 positions in P1 and P2 respectively, and again finished in the same spots, meaning all three mountune-powered Ford Fiesta Supercars were to feature in the final race of the day.

The Final race saw the three drivers take the top three starting positions, Bryntesson on Pole followed by Eriksson and Froshaug.  A brush between the first two saw Bryntesson's Supercar facing the wrong way on track, resulting in him dropping down the pack.

Eriksson came out of the dispute unscathed and took over as lead car, taking P1 at the flag however his exit from the joker lap which caused the impact with Bryntesson was later deemed unlawful, and a penalty was issued to the Swede, dropping him to the second step of the podium.

With just 2 rounds left of the 2018 championship, the three mountune-powered drivers now sit in the top 4 of the official Supercar Standings.
