BTCC Round 8 - Knockhill
A wet Knockhill played host to this weekends Round 8 of the British Touring Car Championship where the team faced a challenge after qualifying saw Chilton, Tordoff and Cole start Race 1 in P15, P16 and P22 respectively.
Race 1 saw mountune-powered #3 Chilton climb the grid taking points for the team crossing the line in P12, with Tordoff following in P17 and Cole, P24.
Race 2 saw some disturbance with two safety cars being deployed, plus worsening weather meant the race was cut short at Lap 20. However, further drama unfolded resulting in the top 2 finishers being excluded from the race due to a post-race check meaning the Motorbase boys moved up the results table with Chilton in P6, Tordoff in P11 and Cole in P18.
After the commotion with the revised Race 2 results, a reverse grid draw saw Chilton mirror his Rockingham final race of the day starting Race 3 on Pole, and a perfect lights to flag drive saw him take his and the teams first P1 of the season. Chilton also makes history as the 14th BTCC winner of this years season, which now sits him in 6th in the Drivers Standings, 2nd in Independent Drivers with Team Shredded Wheat with Gallagher 2nd in the Independent Teams.
We look forward to seeing the team back in action at Silverstone for this years penultimate round - September 15-16th.
Nordic RX Round 5 - Kouvola, Finland
This weekends Nordic RallyX held at Kouvola, Finland was again a successful round for the mountune-powered drivers.
Both mountune-powered Olsbergs Eriksson and JC Raceteknik's Bryntesson and Froshaug all earned good points with their three qualifying sessions, each earning a spot in the Semi-Final races.
Semi-Final 1 saw Eriksson continue his winning streak of the day in his Ford Fiesta SC with a P1 start and finish, followed by Froshaug who crossed the line in P2, both making their way to the final race. Semi-Final 3 saw Bryntesson start on pole but unfortunately suffered issues meaning a DNS which ended his race day.
The final race of the day saw Eriksson and Froshaug line the grid in P1 and P5 respectively and did well to maintain their positions, taking the flag in the same spots.
This successful penultimate round for Eriksson now sees him sitting in 2nd in the official Driver Standings, just 6 points behind the leader. We look forward to seeing all drivers back in action for the final race of the season in Sweden on October 7th.
